Buying from China

China presents excellent sourcing opportunities
Are you currently or are you considering purchasing products in bulk directly from China? Labor in China is very inexpensive. This makes it an excellent source for inexpensive fair to high quality partially and completely finished products.

China offers tremendous potential benefits
Buying products in bulk directly from the manufacturer offers the potential advantages of the lowest possible price, the least possible hassle, and the greatest possible control. Eliminating all of the middlemen reduces costs, potential for confusion and miscommunication, interference, time delays, and other potential impediments to steady supply.

China also presents many potential pitfalls

There are also many risks associated with doing business with China. American business sense by itself is typically not nearly sufficient for a businessman to navigate the major differences in doing business in China. Differences in language, culture, and how business is normally conducted can lead to a variety of problems.
For example, let us assume that you were to expend time and effort in order to locate a candidate factory to manufacture your products, and that you personally contact the factory by phone or email. You would typically deal with a low-level person in the ‘English Sales Department’, who is typically a young person who majored in English at college, and would negotiate price and terms.
We can even assume here that you would somehow avoid all of the potential pitfalls of doing business with China, such as the common mistaken beliefs that American standards of negotiation will serve you well with China, that the less that you attempt to negotiate price and terms the better your relationship with the factory will be, that the price that the salesman quotes you is the maximum that they could actually end up demanding, and so on.
Yet what might happen if a serious problem were to develop? You might find yourself spinning your wheels because the only person you can contact to complain to is a young kid, who is located a half a world away, who has no actual authority to do anything but to act as a buffer between you and management, who suddenly no longer speaks English as well as you thought, and whose loyalty lies completely with the Chinese factory and not at all with you.
Your experience in doing business in the United States might lead you to mistakenly assume that the more readily that you accept their quote and the less that you attempt to negotiate price and terms, the better your relationship will be. This is a big mistake, because even though it sounds counter-intuitive, everything MUST be negotiated, no matter how satisfactory an offer might seem at first estimate. It can be a very big mistake to assume that the first price that the salesman quotes you is a hard upper limit on their ultimate price demands. There are 2 primary purposes to negotiation, in addition to setting up price and terms. These are to strengthen the relationship while at the same time exerting downward pressure on the pricing momentum. Failure to negotiate is seen as a sign of inexperience as well as too low of a price, whereas culturally inappropriate negotiating style is seen as rude and will weaken the relationship.

An experienced assistant can make life much easier
I could then contact the same factory, the one of your choosing, and negotiate directly with the owner. I could most likely negotiate for you a significantly lower cost, even after my commission is deducted. That’s right! My entire set of services will most likely cost you nothing, and can actually cost you less than just the product price that you negotiate yourself!
I understand how business works in the United States and in China, and I have the skill and experience to bridge the cultural gap for you. My team and I can handle the delicate and critical art of Chinese negotiation, which will help to cultivate a much better, more reliable, more open, and more secure relationship with the factory. I have the infrastructure in place to help ensure that things go smoothly in your dealings with China. Not only can I provide you with a number of valuable services, but you may well be able to receive all of these services, which would otherwise each cost you even more money, at effectively no cost at all! In other words, I may be able to negotiate a much lower price than you could negotiate, which will more than compensate my flat commission rate and all of the services that I offer.
You will be much more confident knowing that if a problem were to arise, you only need to contact a local businessman, who speaks English, who has your best interests at heart, and who is able to contact the factory owner directly to address the problem on your behalf. In other words, the interpreter who acts as a buffer between you and the factory owner is an American who works for you, and not a Chinese person who works for the factory.

Services that I offer
The services that I offer include locating candidate factories, negotiating with the factory owners, handling ordering, scheduling, shipping, and delivery, performing in-factory quality control inspection before shipping, and detecting and resolving problems. We maintain our own professional, experienced Chinese businessmen on staff in China, who will keep in regular contact with the factory, keeping an eye on them and keeping you in their mind as someone nearly who will go to their factory at the hint of a problem and not someone half a world away who cannot visit them and force them to deal with your concerns immediately.
There is a large amount of concern these days about the environmental and health risks of products from China. Our local staff can perform any quality control checks that you might desire before the products are shipped, in order to reduce your risk and increase your confidence.
I work on straight commission, and have nothing to hide. I not only welcome you but actively encourage you if you wish to accompany us on a tour of the factory and to meet directly with the factory owner. As well, you are welcome to interact as closely with the factory people as you wish. I believe in maximizing your access, awareness, and control. I will always have your best interests in mind.

Service Guarantee
I will never charge you any money or expect any compensation from you unless and until I show you that we can save you money and you actually make a purchase from China.
It will cost you nothing to contact me to chat and see if what I can offer you will save you time and money and effort and worry.
